Beau Jo's

When I think of peace, I think of the gym. I go to the unimpeded memory of Estes park, Colorado, a picture in my mind I often retrieve while I am taking of my yoga classes. Our instructor tells us to clear our minds of clutter and visualize a peaceful place. I have never seen any place greener than Estes Park. So when I think of this peaceful place, I imagine it looking just like Estes Park. Everything there was calm, beautiful and the weather was so nice. It gave me a sort of inner peace just being there. The best way I can describe the feeling is the deep breath you take, the one that gets your breathing back to normal again you've run a few miles. You take a deep breath and you feel relieved. Now, I believe that we can all have this feeling if we just relaxed a little more often and were all a little more selfless. It is impossible to ever have world peace because selfishness is a trait we are born with. All arguments, fights, and wars have been caused because of selfish and egotistical reasons.

  1. I liked how you could compare two completely different things such as the gym and Peace. What you wrote was a lot different from everyone else. Estes Park sounds like a very beautiful place to be.

  2. Wow... That was very profound in a very "superficial" way. Now I don't mean superficial as in shallow but in a tangible way, at surface level. That actually made me relax a bit, I remember when I used to run in the golf fields at night or really early in the morning, that brought me peace. I remember a day... I think it was around March, the sky was covered with dense dark clouds and the fields were greener than ever, I was running through the fields and suddenly it began to rain; there is this moment (after you get used to running) when you just don't feel anything, you don't feel pain, tired, etcetera you are just numb or become numb, so I ran faster through the rain and I felt at peace.

  4. I do believe that selfishness and ego can effect world peace and even inner peace.Imagining a beautiful place does bring peace to ones soul. We all need inner peace and i believe we can achieve that through music as well.

  5. It's interesting that you used something important to you to talk about peace instead of generally
